Song meaning:This song is both a love letter to the show Fireflyand the movie Serenity, and also a statement against imperialism and capitalism, and capitalist bureaucrats.
I wanted to romanticize the struggles of Mal Reynolds and the crew of the Serenity and their fight against the fascist Alliance. The reavers in this instance(“men gone savage at the edge of space”)represent the follies of bureaucraacy , a product of hyper capitalism. This really only makes sense if you watch the show and then Serenity!
The last lyric :”Love will keep us in the sky,
But we will have to fight,
Traverse the endless soulless heartless night”
Is a reference to a line in Serenity when Mal tells River Tam :”Love. You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home”
lyrics
V1: A planet killed by bureaucrats,
An illusion employed,
Of Men who had gone savage as they looked upon the void
Universe, sweet universe,
Can you hear the cries,
Planet after planet after planet they destroyed
Eyes awash with entropy ,
Souls as black as night,
Yet these reavers once were men like you and I
V2:Dark worlds filled with savages,
Struggle to survive
Men who brave these times are brave by just staying alive
Better men than that yet still though,
command rusty ships,
These skies are mine he cries while giving Allied fools the slip
Love will keep us in the sky,
But we will have to fight,
Traverse the endless soulless heartless night
Ending
Lost on cosmic seas
Oh sweet Serenity
Rare commodity
Oh these whores and thieves
A choice to fight or flee
Reclaim humanity
Can we be set free
Or remain whores and thieves

Are Geezer the heaviest heavy blues band out there? Probably, but if you’re unsure, just listen to these four songs and decide for yourself. And while your eyelids get heavy from all that smoke, Borracho have the cowbell to lead you home. This is a stoner rock goldmine, folks, so bet in the van whilst you can. We got nine more of these trips to go! Kirk Gauthier

Outstanding Hard-Rock from these Texas tornados. Switchblade Jesus will undeniably be compared to Kyuss, Corrosion of Conformity and Clutch. Play this one loud, however, and let those massive crunchy riffs hammer their way into your skull, 'Equinox', 'Sick Mouth', 'Copperhead' and the bludgeoning 'Oblivion' in particular are just so satisfying that you have to hold your hands up and say 'THIS BAND ROCKS!' An amazing album 👍🏻
It took me a while to get into Boss Keloid’s groove. I knew intellectually that it was my kinda music but I didn’t take to Melted On The Inch like I thought I would. I think listening to lots of modern jazz limbered me up! This is really complicated prog rock with heavy ass guitars added for street cred. I’m so happy that anyone might consider this band cool. They’re fucking cool to me but music like this has been vilified in the past. All hail the new Gentle Giant! Crinklechips
